Course Description

The Diploma of Community Services CHC52021 will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work within a range of roles in the community. This course will help to develop your communication skills, case management skills, awareness of mental health, and enable you to work in a professional setting with diverse clients and groups.

To be eligible for funding, you must be an existing worker within community, or caring for an NDIS participant. If you are not a current worker or carer, you will be able to complete the course at the unsubsidised price.

Course duration

Approximately 8 to 12 months including 200 hours of placement, with flexible options.

QLD Government Funded Pricing:

• $100 concessional
• $190 non-concessional

Funded through: the Back to Work Funding (C3G Plus) or Higher Level Skills Program.

Full Fee:

• Full fee: $4,000 or concessional $3,500

Are you eligible for Government Funding?

• Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate IV level or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.
• The program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school (except for VET in Schools students)
• Is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident(including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency

If you do not qualify for this government funding, you may still be eligible to undertake the course through Back to Work funding (if you are unemployed or upskilling in your current role or changing careers, or under the age of 25). If no funding is available to you, payment plans are available for full fees (please call us for more details).

This Diploma is for anyone who would like to start a career as a Support Worker or Case Manager, and for those already working in the area needing to formalize or upgrade their qualifications. It is funded for those with community experience, or current carers for NDIS participants (paid or unpaid).

What you’ll learn

Entry Requirements

There are no mandated education entry requirements for this qualification, per the CHC Community Services Training Package, although funding requires industry experience.

It is also recommended that students;

• Have the language, literacy and numeracy skills that ensure the ability to read and comprehend technical terms and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Have access to a computer and internet
• Have basic computing skills
