Course Details

  • Prerequisites: There are no formal entry requirements
  • Duration: 4 to 6 months
  • Theory: 15 units in total (9 Core units and 6 Elective units)
  • Delivery:
    • Face to Face: Class runs every Thursday (9am to 3pm)
    • Online: Students currently employed in the industry at an approved facility can study online provided they submit evidence of their employment before enrolment. Students may be required to attend class if directed by their trainer.
  • Assessments: Written assessments and practical assessments, no essays or exams
  • Extra support: Lecture recordings and extra resources available for each unit
  • Next Intake: Course runs on a rolling intake, you can begin at any time
  • Practical: 120 hours of Vocational Placement required.
    • Please review the attached information regarding the vocational placement requirements
    • Aged Care centres will require evidence of Police Clearance and may require vaccination evidence
    • Please be aware that that manual handling tasks will be required.
    • You will need to dedicate 3 weeks to this placement. Ensure that all family and work commitments are arranged in advance so that you are available from Monday to Friday, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Government Funding (for eligible QLD residents):

  • $50 non-concessional (Certificate 3 Guarantee or C3G Boost)
  • $30 concessional (Certificate 3 Guarantee or C3G Boost)
  • SQW through TMC (fee free)

Full Fee Student Pricing:

  • Full cost: $2,625
  • Concessional cost: $2,250

Are You Eligible For Government Funding?

Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  1. Queensland resident
  2. 15 years or older
  3. Not enrolled in school (excluding School students completing VET)
  4. Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants) OR a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
  5. Not enrolled in/has not completed Certificate III level and/or higher qualification.

(This does not include qualifications completed at school and/or foundations skills training)

If you already hold a Certificate III or above, you may still be eligible to access Back to Work funding as it is available for students that have already completed qualifications in Australia (certain criteria applies).

Qualification awarded

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), awarded by Training Tailor Made, RTO Provider Number 31729.

Entry Requirements

There are no mandated education entry requirements for this qualification, per the CHC Community Services Training Package.

It is also recommended that students

  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills that ensure the ability to read and comprehend technical terms and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have access to a computer
  • Have basic computing skills

You will need to be at least 16 years old.
